Over the end of Summer into early fall, the Bryan County Sheriff's Office conducted a community survey with the assistance of the Criminology Department from Georgia Southern University. We met several times with the Criminology Department about what information would be helpful to our department about our community. We wanted to know how the community felt about our department, what areas we did well in, and what areas needed improvement. We had over 100 respond and also the feedback was very insightful.
We will be hosting a meeting at the Bryan County Administration Building at 66 Captain Matthew Freeman Drive Richmond Hill, GA 31324 on February 16th, 2022 starting at 6pm. The attendees will be Sheriff Mark Crowe, Deputy Chief David Ellis, and the Criminology Department from GSU ( Amanda Graham, Chad Posick, Logan Somers, and Kristine Thompson) who helped develop, distribute, collect, and analyze the community survey. They will be able to speak on the process of the survey and what the results were. The Sheriff and Chief will be able to speak about how we are incorporating those results into the department's operations.
We will be inviting the public to attend in person. If they are unable to attend in person, we will be live streaming the meeting. Also if anyone who cannot attend in person, we ask that they email questions they may have to my email. I'll compile the questions so they will be able to be asked at the meeting. Before the meeting is to take place, we will make the survey results available (we are projecting in the next week or two). If there are any questions, please feel free to contact me. Thank you for helping us get the information out to our community members.
